Welcome to Sunday Reset šŸŒž

(coming to you on a Monday šŸ˜…)

šŸ’Œ What’s happening this week:

  • Fear of starting (over and in general)

  • Journaling prompt: fear

  • What’s on my Internet radar

  • Making time for movement

ā€œWhere are you going? The power of pause and starting overā€

Whew, I’ve been waiting for the right time to start the Sunday Reset šŸŒž and send out the first official email. This isn’t the first time I’ve sent out a ā€˜newsletter’ or even started a whole new one….

But there’s always some fear of starting something, and maybe even of starting over. I could say that I was ā€˜waiting for the right time’ and while that’s partly true, I think I was also procrastinating the entire process.

Start something new? Start… again?!

At 32 years old and working in marketing and content creation for 7 years professionally and 13+ years as a hobby… I felt like I had done the work. You know, create LOTS of different types of content across different mediums, build an audience and a business, and then live that dream.

ME?! Start over, AGAIN?!

Some part of my ego feels like I’ve already done that work and I deserve to be at the top… because don’t people know who I am?! I’ve hustled, I’ve put in the hours, why do I need to start from zero again?

And then I’m humbly reminded that just because I did the work before, doesn’t give me a rite of passage to jump to the top. In the book ā€œWho Moved My Cheese?ā€ by Spencer Johnson, he shares that when there’s change, there are 4 types of people, one of them being the person who feels entitled to ā€˜success’ because they’ve done the work, put in the hours, and have earned their place (they end up being adverse to change).

To be honest, I felt entitled to my success which was the start of my downfall (lol).

Truthfully, it’s a huge ego blow to start over again and the entitlement I felt is sulking in the corner 🤣 but the lesson I’ve taken from all of this is I am NOT entitled to my success and maybe the shock of that will bring back some of that zest I had when I was just starting - the curiosity, creativity, and excitement towards something that I used to love but started to hate.

Anyway, all this to say… starting over, although scary, is actually liberating. I have the opportunity to completely reinvent and rewrite how I show up and what I do next. ✨

(Ok, I’ll be honest, it’s also humbling and gives me a dose of reality AND it’s also fun to show up ready to explore and learn from this entirely new journey.)

āœļø THIS WEEK’S JOURNALING PROMPT

Pick an area of your life and take some time to dream about it.

ā€œIf I started over knowing what I know now, what would I do differently?ā€

šŸ’» THINGS THAT STUCK OUT TO ME ON THE INTERNET

  • Colin & Samir Show: ā€œHow to Make it On YouTube in 2025ā€ (while the conversation is heavily focused on being a Creator, I love the bigger message that there are SO many ways to do something, it’s just about finding what works for you)

  • 30 Lessons on Starting Over: ā€œThe Power of Pauseā€ (shamelessly plugging in my new short video series sharing 30 lessons over the next 30 days on starting over!)

  • Culture Vulture Newsletter: ā€œGrieve the Tiny Deathsā€ (lately I’ve been obsessed with death and this IG post sharing snippets of the newsletter Culture Vulture perfectly captures all my thoughts around death)

šŸ—“ PREPARING FOR THE WEEK AHEAD

šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø Planning my workouts ahead of time

One of my goals is to stick to a regular movement/exercise routine. What’s been helping me is planning my workouts ahead of time on Sundays.

I used to try to plan my workouts for the entire month but found that to be WAY too rigid for my changing schedule. Now, I spend 15-20min on Sundays planning and blocking my workouts in my calendar and even finding the YouTube videos I’ll be following and plugging them in.

See you next week (and on an actual Sunday šŸ˜…) when I’m breaking down my strategy to change how I make money to be more sustainable in my life and lifestyle.

Until then…
