“Life feeling chaotic? Try a mid-year reset to reprioritize”

Hi friend, before we dive into this week’s Sunday Reset ☀️ I wanted to extend a virtual hug.

INSERT VIRTUAL HUG HERE AND A DEEP BREATH 🫂

Most of this week has felt like whiplash.

One moment, I feel like I’ve gotten a good handle on things, everything is falling into place, and all the work I’ve been putting in since the beginning of the year is leading to great opportunities blooming.

Then the next moment, I open social media, and I start crying.

I see what’s happening in Los Angeles, I see nothing’s changed for Palestine and Ukraine, and then to counter all that grief and sadness, I look for ‘random acts of kindness’ videos on TikTok to remind myself that there is hope.

So when life feels chaotic in ways that are out of my control, I need to constantly remind myself that the only thing I can do is focus on the small things that I can control…

And that looks like:

  • Daily actions I can take to give back to my own community

  • How I show up in my relationships (with my partner, family, friends, clients, etc.)

  • What I do to support myself (when I have big emotions or anything else)

  • Recognizing the mundane moments that add sparks of joy to my life

If this week has also got you feeling like you’ve just dealt with whiplash - try a reset to help realign your goals, priorities, and focus.

We love a good analogy around here - so grab your gardening gloves 🧤🧑‍🌾🌷🐌

And let’s head to the garden to plan your own mid-year reset.

✂️ Q1: PREP & PRUNE

Take a look back to Q1 and reflect on what you were able to prep (or weren’t), to lay foundations for your goals for the rest of the year.

Are there areas that lack a lil’ pruning to get rid of things that no longer serve you or aren’t aligned? Are there areas that you could have prepped more or areas that felt perfectly prepared?

🌱+🚿: Q2 PLANT & WATER

During this quarter, what seeds have you planted and which of those seeds have you nurtured?

Were there areas that felt like you had an energy leak? Were there thoughts and stories you had this quarter that watered your ideas or hurt your sprouts?

🌷+ 🐝: Q3 NURTURE & POLLINATE

Taking all of your reflections from Q1 and Q2, let’s imagine what you’d like to nurture and pollinate for the next 3-6 months…

Nurturing your goals and ideas this quarter could look like:

  • Spending extra time working on XYZ

  • Asking for support where needed (especially if you feel stretched and pulled)

  • Tracking your habits, progress, and energy to see trends

And pollinating your goals and ideas this quarter could look like:

  • Bringing in strategic accountability to make your goals and ideas a reality

  • Collaborating with others on creative projects to bring a larger vision to life

  • Being in community and leaning into reciprocity (not out of obligation but because you trust that there is a natural give/take cycle)

What do you say, friend…

How’s the garden looking after all this? 😍 HIT REPLY and let me know.

✍️ THIS WEEK’S JOURNALING PROMPT

“What does support look like for me in this season of life?”

Our support systems are flexible and ever-changing, especially for different seasons of life. I explored this journaling prompt because a few things were coming up: I realized I have outgrown my morning routine (in this season of life), and I’m craving different types of connections and community.

What type of support do you need for yourself in this current season of your life? For me, it’s waking up earlier for some movement and turning my devices on ‘do not disturb’ mode for the majority of the day for deep work, so that I can have more time to spend outside and with my friends.

💻 THINGS THAT STUCK OUT TO ME ON THE INTERNET

  • MY OWN WAY PODCAST: A very relevant podcast episode from Andrea Marisol (who’s coming into the Lounge as a guest speaker this month!) on “Living While the World is on Fire”. With everything that’s happening in the world, this episode gave me hope and a sense of control.

  • MATT D’AVELLA VIDEO: Matt is a YouTuber I’ve followed for years, and this video he shared a while ago on his productive day as a new dad isn’t what I expected. It helped me understand that I don’t need to be optimizing every aspect of life, and there are seasons!

  • CREATIVE RETREAT IN FRANCE: Daisy, an Astrologer and member of the Plans to Progress Lounge, is hosting a creative retreat in France this summer! The retreat will be in French and is open to creative women.

🗓 PREPARING FOR THE WEEK AHEAD

🥾 INTENTIONS FOR 100KM

By the time you’re reading this, I’ve started my pilgrimage to walk 100 km to Santiago de Compostela in 5 days. You can watch daily stories of my trek on Instagram!

Before setting out on this journey, I chose 4 intentions I’d like to prioritize. I’ve found that giving myself some time to reflect on WHAT I’d like this camino to represent for me has made it a much more meaningful experience and helps give me hope when things get hard.

This simple exercise reminded me that we can do this in our daily lives, too! So, while you may not be walking 100 km this week like me (lol), what is an intention you’d like to have next week?

🌻 GOODIES YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED

Let’s have a mid-year reset together! I’m resetting my life and planning for June and beyond in this plan with me video. We’re reflecting on the first half of the year, setting goals for the 2nd half, and diving into a creative activity to bring my goals and action steps to life (and to gamify my productivity) 😉

🤝 HOW TO WORK TOGETHER

Want to work together to create time and space for intentional connections? Here are a few ways to do that through marketing support, journaling, and education.

It’s Day 2 of the 5-day trek to Santiago de Compostela…

So far, we’ve been walking about 20km a day, and tomorrow is going to be the most difficult day… with a 30km trek. Last time my partner and I did this, it took us 12 hours to arrive at the next town because my feet (and whole body) were TIRED.

Hopefully it’ll take us less time tomorrow! Wish me luck and see you next Sunday!

But until then…

💖 #stayfierce,
