How to plan your goals for Q2

“Plan your goals for Q2, a simple way to prioritize what matters most”
Y’all, I am LOCKED IN 🔐 for the next 90 days to make my goals a reality.
This might sound a little intense, but alas, in true Pisces fashion, one must be intense and a little delusional.
While reviewing Q1 and planning for Q2, I had a few emotions come up for me:
I was frustrated that specific goals kept getting moved to the next month, then quarter (*ahem* my Spanish driver’s license)
I felt overwhelmed with my own big goals list (even if I was also feeling excited about it)
And I was feeling scattered with my time, energy, and resources
Turns out… how I was setting my quarterly and monthly goals wasn’t working with this current season of my life.
Usually, I set a general theme for the quarter and then break that down into 3 main goals for each month (personally and professionally). In the past, this has worked well because some of my goals have been around habits and routines that I was able to implement.
In my current flow of life… I learned that setting 3 main monthly goals was confusing me and actually spreading myself thin when it comes to my priorities and what will move the needle forward to living my most intentional life.
So this quarter, I’m simplifying it!
Instead of focusing on 3 main goals per month, professionally and personally, which, if you break it down, is 18 different goals if I didn’t carry things over to the following months 😵
I am now going to focus on one main goal for the personal and professional side of things (2 total).
This helps me to prioritize an area that will make the biggest difference in my life and also is probably the most important, especially because I know doing THIS ONE THING will drastically improve my quality of life (and how I build my business).
I don’t know if you’ve ever had this happen to you, but sometimes I know exactly what it is I need to do to make the biggest impact in a certain area of my life, but instead of doing the thing… I try to find smaller, ‘easier’ things to do instead. It’s like I’m procrastinating because doing that one action is really scary!
I saw this happen all the time with my marketing clients…
Instead of focusing on a marketing strategy that could yield the highest results (for example, emailing past clients to share about new services or open slots, or even asking for referrals), many of my clients got trapped in trying to figure out ‘how they can show up more online’ by creating more content.
While both strategies are valid, creating more content seems like the sexy and exciting thing to do… but wouldn’t yield the biggest results. Sending that email to ask for referrals or share about updated projects usually did…
So, if you haven’t planned your Q2 goals yet, I’d like to challenge you to…
Pick one main goal for your personal and professional development
Get clear on WHY this is important to you and how it will improve your life
Imagine how it feels to complete this goal
Break down that goal into smaller steps you can do daily, weekly, and monthly
Give yourself a light deadline of when you’d like to get the goal done by
And of course, WRITE THIS DOWN SOMEWHERE so you can return to it often throughout these next 90 days.

I love this journaling prompt because it’s more about letting our imagination play and dream up scenarios and fantasies, like a true Pisces 😉 This isn’t meant to be a list that makes you feel anxious or pressured, so take this journal prompt with a bit of whimsy and play, and list out all of the things you CAN do in 90 days!
Here are some examples of what I’ve written down: finish reading 3 books, run at least 3x a month, meet with friends, spend time outside, buy an ice cream cone, sew a tote bag. Some of these ideas relate to my goals, and some are just for fun!
💻 THINGS THAT STUCK OUT TO ME ON THE INTERNET
VIBEY PLAYLISTS FOR WORK: I found this YouTube channel that I am now obsessed with for vibey, cozy, and calm playlists for my deep-work days. I love that their playlists are named after things like ‘coffee’, ‘matcha’, and ‘bubble tea’, to name a few.
A LOT CAN CHANGE IN A YEAR: I’ve been a subscriber of Anna Mack’s Substack for a while now and return to this newsletter she shared in September 2024 often. In it, she shares how much can change in a year when we zoom out from the day-to-day.
MY CURRENT MOOD: Sometimes when I need a lil’ push, this meme that my sister shared with me gets me through my ‘woe is me’ moments 🕷

🗓 PREPARING FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
🤓 Prepping my Strategy Week This year, I’ve been dividing my months into 3 weeks of implementation and 1 week of strategy, which I like to call my CEO Strategy Week. I have LOVED this new way to organize my work and time because it’s helped me be very intentional with what I do and how I show up. During my implementation weeks, I’m head down, doing the work, and in my strategy weeks, I’m reviewing and planning for the month ahead. This upcoming week is my strategy week, so I’m prepping ahead of time to make sure I can show up knowing exactly what to do! I’m making small checklists for each day of the week, based on a theme, and writing all of this down in my business & marketing planner. |

As we’re moving deeper into Q2, I’m actually VERY excited about these next months.
This upcoming week, I’m waiting on some important news on whether I got a freelance job I applied for (my interview with the company is on Tuesday!!), and I’ll also know if I was accepted into a social entrepreneur mentorship program funded by the European Union to help me develop my planning & journaling business idea even further!
